What are your stitching goals for 2009? In the past I have just made a list of what I would love to stitch and tried to do it all. This has resulted in me over committing myself in a variety of ways. So this year, I have decided to apply the process of SMARTY goal making to my needlework as well as to my business, and other parts of my life.
For an excellent explanation of SMARTY goal making, I really recommend Tash’s blog entry on this over at Word Constructions.
So, my stitching goals for 2009 are –
- Complete LHN Neighborhood (by end March)
- Complete an ornament a month, by the 25th of each month.
- Complete Abbey Lane Designs A New Beginning (by end February)
- Be half way through The Needle’s Content’s Spanish Geometric Sampler
- Be 1/3 of the way through Shores of Hawk Run Hollow.
Each of these projects, with the exception of the Ornament a month, are large projects. As I subscribe to the philosophy that working on a large project all the time gets boring, there will be other projects sprinkled throughout the year.
Each of these projects is for The Needlework Boutique. They will, of course, eventually hang in my house, but for a while will be shop models.
As part of the 2muchXS forum, I will be starting two new projects on New Year’s Day – tomorrow. They are LHN’s Coffee Menu, a gift from my 2muchXS Secret Santa, and Lizzie Kate’s Double Flips from 2008.
So let me know what your goals are for 2009. Leave a message in the comments, or as part of the comment, a link back to your own blog.
