Yesterday I received a message from my brother asking us to join his family at the Melbourne Zoo today. Naturally I agreed, especially knowing that today was to be unseasonably warm. We had a wonderful day with my brother, sister-in-law and nephew, with my daughters occasionally being asked to looked after their much younger cousin. The children had wonderful day, but my youngest was unable to cope with the spider enclosure, even though these creatures were all behind glass. It makes her task of sweeping the cobwebs all the more noteworthy, as she cautiously does the job – without complaint!
To keep my elder daughter happy, I handed over my camera and let her photograph what she wanted. Thank goodness for digital cameras. But she took some really nice ones, such as this one of the elephants going for their walk.
After 5 hours, it was time to call it a day. On arrival home, I immediately fell into bed for a nana nap, being totally exhausted after a disturbed night and 5 hours in the sun!
