For quite a while now I have been wanting to make samplers for my daughters to celebrate each year of their lives. I originally came across this idea on Anne’s blog, Tempus Fugit. When the lovely ladies at Blackbird Designs released the Anniversaries of the Heart Series, I decided it was time to start stitching for my eldest daughter.
So earlier this year, I chose Snow Garden, collected the threads and fabric and started stitching… Only to realise that I had started over too far. I put away the chart and fabric and threads for several months, while I worked at finishing several UFOs, before picking the project up again. With very little time devoted to my stitching, I have managed to stitch for about 4 or 5 hours on this project.
Whilst I am happy with my fabric choice, many of the colours of the threads do appear to disappear into the fabric, but I think that once the project is finished, this is will not be too big an issue. However, I may have to pull out my daughter’s initials and the key. They are 2 stitches too high!
Tonight I plan to put some more stitches in. Hopefully next Sunday there will be loads more progress to show…
