This week I finished the next part of the Fa La La 3 Boxes Chart by Lizzie*Kate.
Having started the with Fa La La in the middle, and knowing that I want to finish this design as 3 separate boxes (before it becomes a part of my own collection, it will be a shop model for a while…), I had already decided that I would start in the centre of the bauble, which is situated approximately 1/3 of the distance from the top of the fabric. As I started stitching, I was a bit concerned that I may not have enough to make up the bauble, but I am going to proceed with this method of placing the 3 separate designs.
As you can see, there is a lot of space at the top of the design. I think it should be okay. I still need to add the buttons, but I will do that after I finish the last of the designs in this leaflet.
It has been so pleasant being able to spend a couple of hours several times a week sitting in front of the tv, just stitching away. And although I absolutely ADORE using the variegated threads, there is a kind of extra dose of serenity delivered when working with DMC floss. Choosing a Lizzie Kate design has been the best decision I could have made for myself in the crazy lead up to Christmas.
By the end of this weekend, I should be able to show the 3 stitched ornaments, they just wont be finished yet.
PS. I hope to show you my recent purchases, particularly the ones from last weekend….
