Well, here we are, the first day of a new year, and the first day of my now annual project. (Can I really say annual, when this is only the second year that I have done it?) Last year, the 31 Days of WIPs and UFOs spurred me on to finish some of my projects. This year, I will be revisiting some of last year’s projects, and see if I have moved on, and see if I can locate more.
One of the rules I have set myself is that each project needs to have been started prior to the 31st December, 2011.
And that brings me to my first WIP. This is definitely a WIP, as I only started it last week. I have been planning to make this quilt since the end of the last school holidays. The plan was to have a picnic quilt made for this summer. But I never had time to hide out in my studio. So I finally started it this week. The pattern comes from a Homespun Magazine (I think the No 95) and is called Hunky Dory.
I am using Strawberry Fields (Fig Tree) charm packs for the squares, with the cornerstones coming from some meterage from this same range. In the above picture, you can see me starting to lay out the fabrics ready to sew the rows and columns together.
So what WIPs and UFOs do you have lurking around? Do you want to join me in my 31 Day blogging challenge? Leave a comment below, with a link to your blog if you want to join in.
