Hands up if you have made being better organised and less cluttered one of your New Year Resolutions? For so many years one of my New Year resolutions was just that. And in 2013 I finally achieved a less cluttered, more organised home. (still working on the life part. LOL)
Have you noticed the abundance of blog posts giving guidance for a more organised, less cluttered home/life? At the moment they are everywhere. This post is not one of those. I am not going to give you advice on how to achieve the amazingly organised linen closet (don’t look at mine too closely!), or the perfectly organised pantry where all the spices are organised in alphabetical order. What I want to say is that if you are like me, striving for that perfectly organised house, but worried that you will never make it, there is something you can do right now!
Wander through your house. Look in every room, every corner, every cupboard, on every shelf. Is there one area of your home that is perfectly organised?
For me it is my bookshelves.
If I have one book out of place, then I stress until I have sorted ALL of my books.
Is it a cupboard, your desk, a shelf, a drawer, a basket? If you can locate one spot in your home that is perfectly organised for you, then, in my opinion, that makes you a born organiser.
Now choose another space to organise. For me it is my desk. How do you want it to look? How are you going to achieve that look?
Well, what are you waiting for? Go do it…
