On the First Day of Christmas…

Can you believe that it is only 12 Days to Christmas?  Yeah, me neither!

Today I gave myself the day to enjoy.  To play.  I spent the morning with some of the wonderful Melbourne Casketeers.  We are part of a world wide group of needleworkers striving to reach the pinnacle of a needleworker – create our own embroidered casket.  This course is run by Tricia Wilson Nguyen of Thistle Threads.

We had a wonderful morning.  We were able to see the unfinished carcasses, as 2 of the ladies brought theirs in.  We saw a beautiful trinket box, ready to have its embroidered panels mounted.  And we discussed the upcoming exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria.  Oh, and I rejoined the Embroiderers Guild of Victoria after a 2 year break!

After much deliberation, I decided that I would go to one of my favourite stores, Villa Maison, after our gathering had finished.  With their Christmas competition going, I had a good look around the store, but nothing really grabbed me today.  The store just wasn’t talking to me, which is most unusual.  I get most of my ideas for my own home from 3 different stores, and this is one of them!

On my way home, I stopped by DJ’s Market in Narre Warren South and caught up with my friend Annie, of Annie’s Natural Solutions, where we chatted for ages.  Finally I had my nails done by my friend Sally.  As always she did a beautiful job.  So now, I am exhausted, but looking forward to tomorrow.
